For reporting that is an embarrassment to the profession of journalism, and for being beholden to corporate paymasters rather than the citizens of America.
In fact, some BuzzFlash readers may not know that radical
leftist turned extremist rightwinger nutcase, David Horowitz,
is a
media figure. They may think that he is just the leader of
the barbarian assault on academic freedom in America, the Lynne
Cheney-affiliated arbiter of what is politically correct
on campuses across America.
But he edits the shrill, anti-liberal arts nutter magazine
called "FrontPage Magazine," is an "analyst"
on FOX propaganda news, and writes regular diatribes on the
peril
of open thinking in our nation's schools.
The son of Marxists and a former Marxist himself, Horowitz
now fits the neo-con profile to a "C," as
in the big con. That is why one can only sadly laugh at this
Horowitz
quote shortly after the invasion of Iraq:
"Baghdad is liberated. In the days to come
let us not forget that if it were not for one man, and one
man alone -- George Bush -- the people of Iraq
would not be celebrating in the streets and pulling down
Saddam's
statues today... We have entered the era of a new civil war
between the forces of freedom and the powers of Islamo-fascist
and communist darkness, and once again the left is clearly
determined to take its stand on the other side. The good
news is that America is back. Our military has performed
superlatively.
Our leadership has stood tall. We ourselves can celebrate
over this and look confidently towards what lies ahead. --
FrontPageMagazine.com -- April 9, 2003
Francis Hagan of Visalia, California, nominated Horowitz for
his ongoing crusade to rid higher education of anyone who
does not subscribe to Neo-Con principles. It's not very
different than what the Nazis tried to do in making their universities
into factories for producing acolytes of their perverted ideology.
A recent Googling
of Horowitz's name reveals
how ubiquitous he is in attacking, McCarthy style, any professor
or administrator who he accuses of being a traitor. To media
putzes such as Horowitz -- the epitome of the wing
nut "pundit" -- dissent
from failed radical right-wing policies is to be equated with
treason, when in reality, one might consider criticism of the
Bush/Cheney crowd as merely a desire for self-survival.
Horowitz champions policies that put America's national
security at risk, and would like to purge universities and
colleges of anyone who might articulate a constructive alternative
that might indeed offer a more effective path to our personal
survival and the continuance of democracy.
If you want to know who is backing Horowitz, just go to Wikipedia and
find out where the money came
from for his eponymous think tank, the "David Horowitz
Freedom Center": "The
David Horowitz Freedom Center is a conservative foundation
founded in 1988 by political activist David Horowitz and his
long-time collaborator, co-author, and friend, Peter Collier.
It was established with funding from conservative philanthropies,
such as the Olin Foundation the Bradley Foundation and the
Sarah Scaife Foundation."
From fanatical Marxist to right-wing think tank flamethrower
to rabid media pundit, David Horowitz is every Jewish mother's
nightmare: a Bush "fluffer," media putz
extraordinaire, and this week's winner of
the BuzzFlash Media Putz of the Week.
