For reporting that is an embarrassment to the profession of journalism, and for being beholden to corporate paymasters rather than the citizens of America.
Frankly, of all the right wing scurrilous shills, we find Sean Hannity the
most dangerous.
Sure Rush Limbaugh has got a pitchfork army of Dittoheads,
but Hannity is the unctuous "Boy Scout" loved by Republicans
as an "earnest, clean-cut patriot." Sean could be
a beloved Republican son-in-law, except that the guy is an unctuous
con artist who gives the appearance of reason while using his
"smoothness" to disguise his artful demagoguery.
Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Coulter, and Savage lend themselves to
easy caricature, but Sean uses boyhood charm to eviscerate
the "enemy"
whom he is paid handsomely to unrelentingly smear.
Ellen of the wonderful FOX propaganda watchdogs, the Newshounds
(volunteers who track the FOX News lies and Republican talking
points) nominated Sean this week for his use of the first recent
Osama tape to attack Democrats. Despite its questionable timing
and origin, Hannity avoided raising the most obvious question:
If the tape is for real, isn't George W. Bush a loser for boasting
to get Osama "dead or alive" years ago and then declaring
that he didn't really think about him much?
Instead, as Ellen notes in her Newshounds
analysis and nomination to BuzzFlash, "Perhaps at a
loss as to how to spin the new video of Osama Bin Laden in favor
of President Bush, Sean Hannity decided he'd use it to attack
his fellow Americans. The self-styled 'Great American' proved
just what kind of patriot and freedom lover he truly is by twice
likening Democrats to Osama Bin Laden."
Whenever we catch a glimpse of Hannity, we wonder why the
fit, sporty-looking chap hasn't volunteered for the reserves
to fight
in Iraq, or lead a daring raid to capture or kill the man who
bested Bush, Osama bin Laden. Hannity's only 45 -- heck grandmothers
and grandfathers older than him, have been killed in Iraq
while serving in the reserves. But for Hannity, like
his FOX
propaganda news cohorts, it's all about their salaries.
They talk a big game, but their patriotism only extends as
far as their next big celebrity paycheck.
Osama's two tapes are a rebuke to the tinhorn cowboy threats
of people such as Bush and Sean, armchair warriors who let
others
do the dying for them.
Everybody knows that each time one of the mysterious Osama
videos emerges at uncanny political moments to help the Republicans,
the only benefactor is Bush. There is little doubt Osama would
vote for the GOP, if he had the chance, because they have
done
so much to enhance his image and power.
Sean Hannity, like the boys in the White House, isn't an American
patriot; he's an enabler of the forces of terrorism because
he unrelentingly gabs up an administration that has intentionally
conducted a war for corporate profit and the control of natural
resources rather than pursue Osama and his band of primarily
Saudi terrorists.
Sean Hannity might be impressive if he ever had the guts to
put himself on the front line, instead of virulently attacking
true patriots who want to get our GIs out of harm's way.
For years of being in Roger Ailes' harem of media whores,
Sean Hannity is a media putz extraordinaire. Whenever Hannity
parks
his butt in a FOX broadcast chair, he knows that his job is
to promote propaganda for his lavish compensation and ignore
the truth.
Honesty is left standing by the wayside as if it were a summer
passenger on the subway and the Sean Hannity express train
rushes
by, leaving the truth to cool its heels as hot air swirls around
it.
